We think you’ll be plenty happy here — things like soaring ceilings, top-notch appliances and hotel-style amenities will make you smile. Living here puts you in the middle of one of Houston’s best neighborhoods, with dining, shopping, and fun, fun, fun at your doorstep. But — no offense — we’re not here to talk about you.

Is Fido listening? Good. Because here’s a taste of pet friendly things to do in Midtown Houston.

Dog Parks

Houston Dog Park Association — Start with this comprehensive list of all the dog parks in town, with maps, rules, a FAQ, photo gallery, and everything else you’ll need to let your pup have some fun. The HDPA is also a dog park advocacy organization, so if you believe in more places for your four-legged friend to play, join up!

Elizabeth Baldwin Park — This isn’t strictly a dog park, but it’s a great place nearby for your pooch to hang out and meet her pals. Best dog times are early morning and evening.

West Webster Street Park — A new, small, well-maintained dog park near Ashton on West Dallas.

Central Houston Animal Hospital — Locals are full of praise for the care at Central Houston Animal Hospital, calling it warm, comprehensive, and compassionate. They even make house calls and faciliate pet adoptions!

The Cat Doctor — Because Fluffy needs special tender loving care, right? These docs know and love their kitties, and they’ll keep her happy, healthy, and purring for years to come.

Dog Friendly Restaurants & Bars in Midtown Houston

The Houston Press did a good job covering this topic, listing the top ten dog friendly bars and restaurants in town. Click through and see what you can find; where dogs used to be limited to patios at burger joints, they’re now being welcomed at classy establishments all over town, many of whom offer water and treats. Some even offer dog friendly goodies based on their cuisine.

Pet Grooming

Urban Tails — Grooming, training, lodging, a spa, and the Bow Wow Beach Club. Wow, we almost wish we had the two extra legs required for admission here.

The Pooch Pad — Located in a pretty converted Victorian house, locals love the comprehensive grooming, boarding, and daycare services here.

Midtown Houston Dog Walkers

Pet Care Nanny — Going on vacation? Working late? Let Midtown Houston’s Pet Care Nanny give your furry friend food, fun, and a break from missing you. They’ve been taking care of neighborhood pets for a long time, and are fully bonded, insured, and backed by praise. Last minute service is also available.
